When Life Gives You Lemons....Make Lemonade!

Hello Gals,

It's been a little while since I last posted so I wanted to give a quick update as to why I have been MIA for the last few weeks.

Please not these images are from the internet.

They say out of most bad situations, something good can be taken from it
The saying that immediately pops into my mind is "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade" In other words, make something good out of a bad situation.

My Lemons

Back in January of this year, my position at the Bank was made redundant, which basically means, I am out of job. You hear stories all the time of people being made redundant and not being able to find employment which means that they cannot support their families, it is an absolutely frightening situation to be in, so my stress levels instantly went through the roof as I too have my family to take care of and a mortgage to pay not to mention everyday living expenses.

By nature, I am  a fighter and I will fight to make my goals a reality, fight my way in or out of any situation, but this really knocked the wind out of me, taking my fight instinct along with it. If it wasn't for the love and support of my family and friends, making lemonade out of this situation would not have be possible.

My Lemonade

With being a makeup artist, and owner of Chrysalis Cosmetics (online makeup store) I have decided to live my dream of being a full time makeup artist and business owner, giving Chrysalis the TLC that it deserves as having been employed full time, really made it difficult to give it the attention that it needed.
In addition to the website, I also decided to open a physical retail location for Chrysalis Cosmetics in town.  I am so excited about this venture as I now get to interact more with my customers in person daily, giving them beauty/ makeup advice. I am also looking forward to my makeup line PRISM being more visible and readily available.

These decisions did not come without sleepless nights, tears, fear, doubt and  lots of late night phone calls to both my mom and sister, but I feel that these are definitely the right decisions, as makeup is my passion and glamming up ladies left, right and center is what I LOVE to do.

I'm not entirely sure where this journey will take me, but I am determined to give it my all to make it a successful one.

As for my blog, at the moment I am finding it difficult balancing my new business duties and blogging, however  I am hoping to be back to my regular blogging schedule in March.

Thanks so much for your continued support.

  2. Congratulation in making your dream into a reality is very understandable that when starting a business you have to balance so much is hard to balance other things like blog and media but continue with your great success before you know it everything will be put in place and you will run with it.
