Glossy Eyelid Trend - How to Create a Glossy Eyeshadow Look

Lately I have been fascinated by the trend of glossy eyelids. Glossy makeup in general appeals to me, whether the glossiness has been applied to the cheeks, lips or eyelids, there is just something so glamorous about glossy a look.

Now I realize that gloss eye shadow is not a new trend as it is normally seen on runway models, but I thought that it would be fun to translate this catwalk trend into a wearable makeup look suitable for a glam day or night out.

Products:

• Eyeshadow primer
• Either a Cream, satin finish, sparkly eyeshadow or pigment
• Vaseline or unscented lip balm

 

The best choices of eyeshadow for this technique are cream, satin finish or sparkly. If you choose to go for a matte shadow, keep in mind that matte shadows change colour (deepen) when moisture is added.

For this look I have used:

• Prism Stuck on You Primer
• Tinte Cosmetics Shimmering Face Pearls "Rose Petals"
• Vaseline
• Lime Crime liquid liner "Quill"
• Dior Iconic Overcurl Mascara "Over Black"

Steps:

• Step 1: After priming your lids, apply a wash of shadow with a fluffy brush keeping most of the colour concentrated on the lids. Now blend it out so that the shadow fades from the crease to the brow bone. 

• Step 2: Next apply your liquid eyeliner. Staying close to the lashes, apply a thin line to the upper lid and finish by applying two coats of mascara. Before proceeding to step 3, let the mascara and eyeliner dry for at least 5 mins.

• Step 3:  Take a fluffy eyeshadow brush and apply a thin layer of Vaseline to the lids using circular motions. 

Combine this eye makeup with soft dewy skin, highlighted cheeks and glossy lips for the ultimate soft glam look.
