A Cleanser for Every Occasion

Hello Gals,

I’m sure cleansers are a staple in everyone’s skin care arsenal. If not, then they really should be.
Cleansers are the forefront of any skin care routine as they are the key players in  keeping  the skin clean and healthy.

Although I have been known to fall asleep in my makeup on the odd occasion,  cleansing my skin is something that I am very passionate about, and is a step in my beauty routine that I try never to miss.  (Take a peek at “How to Revive the Skin After Falling Asleep in Makeup”)

Cleanser for different skin concerns

My cleansing wardrobe consists four different cleansers to suit my specific skin needs, which can change at any given time. One day my skin may be ultra-sensitive, on another occasion it can be really dry and then on photo shoot days, it’s an entirely different situation…heavy duty cleansing is needed.

So today, I have rounded up my go to cleansers to share how and when I use them.

Simple Kind to Skin Refreshing Facial Wash Gel.

This is my go to daily cleanser for day and night. It also is my “part two” step in removing heavy duty makeup, I will chat more about this below.
The formula is a non-drying gel base  that contains no artificial colour or perfume which I find to be super gentle on my skin. I am quite obsessed with this cleanser for  two reasons; it effectively removes my day to day non-waterproof makeup and because it has the ability to give that squeaky clean feeling without leaving my skin tight and dry.

Simple Kind to Skin Purifying Cleansing Lotion.

On those days that  I struggle with sensitive skin issues, where just looking at my skin makes it hurt lol, I reach for this cleansing lotion. In my opinion, it’s not the best at removing tough water proof makeup however, it is a great option for soothing and calming my fiery skin. I haven’t been able to figure out yet as to what causes my skin to be ultra-sensitive on some occasions and perfectly fine on another,  but when those flair ups occur  this is the perfect solution for me. My skin feels soothed and nourished after use.

Garnier Nourishing Cleansing Oil.

On photo shoot days, when heavy makeup is required, this cleansing oil  is my absolute fav oil cleanser for makeup removal. It has a light sweet scent that I adore, and a great formula that starts off as an oil base and turns into a slightly milky consistency as it emulsifies.  This solution easily and effectively breaks down my heavy water proof makeup and gently whisks it away with ease.  Once I have rinsed, I then follow up with the Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Gel (mentioned above) to ensure that every trace of the oil has been removed from my skin before moving on to the next phase of my routine.

Guerlain Eau De Beaute Micellar Water.

I chatted a little about this cleansing water a little while ago, you can take a peek here.  I reach for this cleanser mainly on the weekends, when I’m not wearing any makeup, as it gives a mild clean which I find to be quite refreshing on my no makeup days. It is also provides a great pick me up on those days when my skin is looking tired and dull. After use my skin feels as though it has been pampered.

  6. You know I've never thought about having different cleansers for different skin days but that's very clever. I only actually have the one so maybe I should try out some others and switch up my skincare a bit! x

  9. A great post :) It's great when you find a cleanser that works really nicely for you! For me I have been using Tropic Skin Care's cleansers which work very nicely. Also Clarins is a great brand also.

Simple and Garnier are both great brands, Garnier I'm especially loving their Ultimate Blend shampoos, the olive oil one is amazing!

  15. I have sensitive skin so I have to keep my skincare routine nice and simple. I have heard a lot about Guerlain Eau De Beaute Micellar Water but was on the fence about buying it because of the cost.
